Customer account deactivation and phone number changes
Prerequisites and authority
Use the official organization interface. Customer procedures need account ownership; provider configuration and manual grants need authorized operator access.
Phone-number changes and account deactivation
An authorized administrator can update a customer's contact/login phone number or suspend/reactivate their account using the customer-management interface. These actions preserve the customer's persisted hotspot identity and history; they are not a migration of router credentials. Check the application result and router enforcement separately, particularly when a router is unreachable.
The current phone number is contact/customer-login data, not universally the hotspot username. Administrator-only phone edits preserve persisted hotspot username/password, identity, device history and paid subscription timelines. Use the actual credential display rather than deriving hotspot credentials from the phone. Phone reuse allocates a distinct fallback identity when the previous hotspot username remains owned; it never transfers the previous customer's credentials. Do not directly edit the database.
For a requested number change, an authorized administrator verifies ownership and uses the supported customer edit workflow. Historical payment/audit attribution and hotspot credentials remain intact. The customer receives the configured account-change notification; delivery depends on the available supported channel.
Suspension revokes application sessions and disables/disconnects managed hotspot replicas, while retaining subscriptions, payments and their original expiry timeline. Outages or ownership conflicts can leave enforcement pending. Reactivation restores eligible accounts that were previously enabled, not an active connection. Repeated activation after a subsequent manual disable preserves that disable and may retry existing pending restoration.
Record the reason and confirm actual results on the customer interface and network. Preserve failure/pending evidence when a router cannot be reached; do not report disconnection as completed merely because a customer record was saved.
These are settled product policies; physical router acceptance remains pending. There is no self-service change to an existing registered phone identity.
