Editions, licensing and feature availability
Prerequisites and authority
Confirm the installed edition and release. Use the glossary and deployment record before selecting an installation path.
BryanNet uses license editions to determine which features and capacities are available to an installation. A license is associated with the customer installation and must be validated under the applicable policy.
Editions
BryanNet’s product lineup includes Site, Business, Professional, and Enterprise. Do not assume each edition has every user interface or administration module. In particular, the Site edition relies on Telegram and captive-portal customer access rather than the separate customer website.
Licensing/edition capability matrix compares included capacities and features. Check the signed licence on your installation for its effective allowances and approved add-ons.
License validation in plain language
- The installed system checks the signed license using a public verification key. The private signing key remains on BryanNet’s trusted license authority, not on the customer’s machine.
- Where the license policy requires online verification, BryanNet checks with the trusted authority periodically.
- A configuration-controlled grace period can cover temporary verification connectivity failures. Grace is not a blanket waiver for license expiry or revocation.
- When the licence expires or verification is rejected, customer-facing application operations and other licence-gated changes become restricted. A licensing restriction does not itself order all paid router sessions to disconnect; subscription expiry, quotas and administrative actions remain separate. See Licensing, renewal and offline grace behaviour for restrictions and renewal steps.
What administrators should do
Keep the license record and renewal contact available. Check the license status in the administrator interface and address warnings before grace ends. Do not disable licensing services or edit database records to bypass a restriction.
