License and backup settings navigation
Prerequisites and authority
Use an individual staff account with the action permission and required organization module/license. Viewing a menu does not establish permission to mutate records.
Find licensing and backup controls
Settings → License contains licensing information; Settings → Backup & Recovery contains backup configuration and supported actions. The inspected navigation gates License with license.view and Backup & Recovery with settings.system. Action authorization must be verified separately from menu visibility.
For licensing, review edition, applicable capacity, expiry and verification state. Do not change the system clock or alter stored entitlement values to clear an error. Licensing, renewal and offline grace behaviour describes operational responses and Licensing/edition capability matrix describes the source-based entitlement reference.
For backups, configure destination, retention, schedule and recovery-key handling. Generate/store the key securely before enabling scheduled backups. A key saved only on the protected host cannot support replacement-host recovery after total loss.
Run one backup, inspect local/off-site availability and use verification. A warning may mean the local copy succeeded while off-site transfer failed, or retention cleanup failed. Treat each destination explicitly.
Restoration is a maintenance/recovery operation, not a routine Settings toggle. Follow Restore BryanNet safely and preserve current data before replacing it. Recovery can change installation identity, service configuration and pending work.
These screens are navigation starting points. Their presence does not certify that restore, license transfer or every action is enabled for the current operator.
